The Classic Bus Owners Association, established in 2010, is a group of friends and transportation industry colleagues who set out to preserve rare, sentimental, OPERABLE vintage public transit buses for the education and enjoyment of transit enthusiasts and operators alike.  Many of the fine people in this organization have had a passion for buses (and other forms of public transit) since childhood and are themselves transit operators for agencies across the United States.  The decision to start the organization was made after we realized that certain public transit buses which have not been produced since the mid-1990s were becoming extinct, and something had to be done to preserve them in working order.  Many organizations of our type maintain vintage buses for the education of potential museumgoers and enthusiasts; very few maintain them in operable condition to be driven instead of simply showcased.
